    Summer/Winter Reading Challenges

    Beanstack
    The Lincoln Public Library offers Reading Challenge programs for school-aged children during the summer and winter. Readers will use Beanstack (online or by downloading the Beanstack app) to keep track of their minutes read, and earn prizes based on the number of hours they log!     1000 Books Before Kindergarten (Starting April 1st!)

    Did you know that reading to your child is one of the most powerful ways to boost his or her brain power? The simple and enjoyable act of sharing books helps your child prepare for kindergarten and learn pre-reading skills such as:

    green dotUnderstanding the sounds letters make

    orange dotDeveloping a bigger vocabulary

    blue dotBuilding background knowledge

     

    What You Need to Know

    green dotAny child ages birth to five years can participate

    orange dotYour child can earn rewards for every 100 books read

    blue dotRegister and track your child's reading using the Beanstack app or by going to Beanstack online

    yellow dotIf you read three books a night, you could reach your goal in just one year!
